Nakupenda: a paradise island a few miles off the coast of Zanzibar
Located just over twenty kilometres off the coast of Tanzania, the archipelago of Zanzibar is a varied and fascinating place characterized by a crystal clear sea, surrounded by lush and untouched nature.
This magnificent corner of paradise has many opportunities to offer: history and centuries- old culture give off a charm that only Zanzibar can convey, in addition to the thousand shades of blue of the waters of the Indian Ocean surrounding beautiful beaches.
Among the most beautiful beaches, there’s Nakupenda, a unique beach in the world. A thin strip of sand, reachable by boat in a few minutes, located on the island of the same name, offshore the city of Stone Town. Its peculiarity is linked to the phenomenon of tides: it disappears and reappears as a mirage. During the high tide, the coasts of Nakupenda are gradually covered by water, getting lost in the endless blue of the ocean. You can also watch the spectacular play of colours put in place by the wet sand, which takes on dozens of different shades. A unique emotion, not to be missed!
